The Liver Works is an awareness campaign that aims to provide information about the science of the liver and liver diseases.
Chronic liver disease affects around 29 million people living in Europe.1 Liver cirrhosis accounts for around 170,000 deaths in Europe each year and liver cancer causes around 47,000 deaths each year.1
It is our collective responsibility to ensure that we continue to improve our liver health and that we are aware of the vital role that this organ plays in the body.

Augmented Reality mirror
To help better understand the liver and the role it plays in the body, an Augmented Reality mirror is located at Wien Mitte, The Mall shopping centre, in Vienna. The Augmented Reality mirror is live from Tuesday 21 April, 2015 until Saturday 25 April, 2015. As passers-by walk up to the mirror they see their liver augment on their reflection along with interesting and engaging information about the role of the liver in the body.
