EASL aims to support Young Investigators and helps them attend The International Liver Congress™ by providing bursaries to cover travel and accommodation costs. Scientists with an excellent abstract that is accepted for presentation at the meeting will be considered for a grant.
EASL offers 2 types of bursaries to the presenting authors only of the best accepted abstracts who are aged 35 or under (as of January 1st, 2015) and/or are still in training.
The application is available to anyone fulfilling the above criteria, without geographical restrictions.
The 200 best scored abstract presenters will be awarded a bursary of 650€ each. This bursary will be handed out during the congress. In addition, the registration fees to the congress will be waived and all bursary recipients will receive one year free EASL membership.
An additional 200 abstract presenters will have their registration fees waived. All bursary recipients will receive one year free EASL membership.
Bursary requests must be made on the online abstract submission form during the abstract submission process only.
Requests received after the abstract submission will not be considered.
The name of the presenting author must match the name of the applicant.
The following supporting documents must be in English and are to be uploaded via the submission system as BMP, GIF, JPG or PDF files (size limit 1 MB) at the time of the abstract submission, and no later than November 24, 2014 (Abstract submission deadline).
Note: EASL will automatically decline all bursary requests that do not conform to the above terms.
Name changes of presenting authors (different than at the time of the abstract submission) will only be accepted until November 24, 2014.

Confirmed bursary applicants will automatically be registered to the congress.

EASL is willing to assist certain participants with an accepted paper, from resource-limited countries, who encounter financial difficulties to attend The International Liver Congress™ 2015. Further details can be obtained by contacting the EASL Office, IN WRITING ONLY, after the abstract selection has been officially announced.
EASL will grant the above bursaries to the presenting authors only who attest that they are not being sponsored or or financially supported by any other source in order to attend The International Liver Congress™ 2015.
